On March 15th, The Speedy Foundation was allowed the opportunity to present a 35 minute breakout session to around 25 Idaho high school students at the 2023
Idaho Association of Student Councils Regional Conference
hosted in the Galaxy Event Center in Meridian.
We presented on general mental health topics with a focus on teen mental health statistics, awareness, and a call to action for these future leaders and how they can implement mental health initiatives in their high schools.
We were met with an overwhelmingly positive response from the students and had the opportunity to answer many questions and facilitate conversations focused on mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
After handing out a variety of resources relating to teen and student mental health, HOPE Squads, and more, we hope to have been able to start more mental health centered conversations in Idaho high schools.
